Does Any of This Sound Familiar?

Families rarely start by knowing the name of a service. They start with a feeling that everyday life has changed.

“Mom is becoming isolated.”

Calls feel shorter, she is less engaged, or the days seem too quiet. A companion can bring conversation, shared activities, and a consistent presence while respecting her choices and pace.

“Dad needs help around the house.”

Laundry, dishes, light meals, or keeping things organized may be harder than before. Lifestyle Support can help with those everyday routines without taking over the home.

“I need someone to check in while I work.”

When you cannot be there during the day, a scheduled companion visit can provide meaningful company and practical support. We communicate relevant observations to the family as agreed.

How PR Home Care helps

Help That Fits Real Life at Home

These services are for an older adult who remains able to manage personal care and mobility independently but would benefit from more connection, structure, or help with household routines.

Virginia’s Way means presence, dignity, patience, and consistency. We support the person, not just the to-do list.

Companion care

Someone to spend time with your parent

Conversation, reading, hobbies, games, meal companionship, routine reminders, and a dependable presence. The goal is connection without making your parent feel managed.

Lifestyle Support / homemaker help

A little more ease in the household

Light housekeeping, laundry, simple meal preparation, organization, and support with familiar household routines. We work alongside your parent and preserve their preferences.

Companion-level family respite

Room for you to work, rest, or handle life

Scheduled non-medical companion visits can give a family caregiver a dependable break. Your parent has company and routine support while you step away.

Planned transportation

A way to get to appointments and everyday outings

Prearranged rides with an approved caregiver may be included in a scheduled non-medical visit. We confirm the destination, cost, service fit, and availability in advance. The four-hour visit minimum applies.

Honest guidance about fit

What This Support Is, and What It Is Not

We will tell you plainly whether companion-level support fits your parent’s needs.

PR Home Care may be a fit when your parent needs:

  • Companionship and meaningful engagement
  • Light household and meal routines
  • Medication reminders, not administration
  • Scheduled relief for a family caregiver
  • Observation and appropriate family updates
  • Prearranged transportation with an approved caregiver

Another level of care is needed for:

  • Bathing, dressing, toileting, or incontinence care
  • Hands-on walking, feeding, or transfers
  • Medication administration or medical tasks
  • Skilled nursing or emergency response
  • Medical transportation or hands-on transfers

Our team provides non-medical, hands-off support. If your parent needs physical assistance to be safe, we will discuss that boundary honestly.

One simple next step

What Happens on a Family Support Call?

The initial support conversation is free and carries no obligation. You do not need to pick a package or know the right terminology before reaching out.

01 / Tell us what has changed

We listen first

Share what you have noticed, what your parent wants, and what has become difficult for your family.

02 / Talk about fit

We explain the boundaries

We discuss the non-medical services, visit length, private-pay structure, location, and schedule you have in mind.

03 / Decide together

You choose the next step

If the request fits, we explain availability and what starting support would involve. If it does not, we will say so.

Questions families ask

A Few Things You May Be Wondering

What if my parent says they do not need help?

Start with what matters to them: company, help with a familiar routine, or less pressure on the family. We do not want to take over. Their preferences and comfort are part of the conversation.

Can someone stop by briefly while I am at work?

PR Home Care provides scheduled visits with a four-hour minimum, not quick drop-in checks or emergency monitoring. We can discuss whether a four-hour companion visit meets your family’s needs.

Can a caregiver drive my parent to an appointment?

Yes, when arranged in advance with an approved caregiver as part of a scheduled non-medical visit. We review the trip, service fit, cost, and availability before scheduling. The four-hour minimum applies. We do not provide hands-on transfers, medical transportation, or emergency rides.

Do you take insurance, Medicare, or Medicaid?

PR Home Care is private pay. We explain the cost and payment process before services begin, so you can decide whether it is the right fit.

What areas do you serve?

We are based in Raleigh and licensed in Wake, Durham, Pitt, Nash, Edgecombe, Wilson, Granville, Chatham, Franklin, Johnston, Orange, and Harnett counties. Caregiver availability depends on the address, schedule, and service needs.

Can a companion help with medication?

Our team can provide medication reminders within the agreed non-medical plan. We do not administer medication, fill pill organizers, or make medical decisions.
