What is concierge companion care?
Concierge companion care is structured, personalized non-medical support for older adults who may not need hands-on personal care, but still need companionship, routine support, safety observation, lifestyle assistance, family respite, and communication with loved ones.
It is designed for families who are starting to notice changes and want support in place before a crisis happens.
Is PR Home Care a licensed home care agency?
Yes. PR Home Care is a licensed non-medical home care agency serving Raleigh and surrounding areas.
Our public-facing specialty is concierge companion care and family support, but we remain clear that our services are non-medical and do not include hands-on personal care.

We do not provide:

Families may notice:
- Missed meals
- Spoiled food
- Clutter
- Isolation
- Unsafe walking
- Trouble keeping routines
- Family caregiver stress
- Gaps between family, nonprofit, church, or community support
Do you provide family respite support?
Yes. Family respite support is one of PR Home Care’s core services.
We provide scheduled non-medical companion support so family caregivers can rest, work, handle appointments, manage responsibilities, or step away while knowing their loved one has support in place.
Family respite helps reduce caregiver pressure before burnout happens.
What does lifestyle support include?
Lifestyle support may include light meal routines, light housekeeping, laundry support, linen changes, home organization, grocery list support, refrigerator checks for spoiled food, and help maintaining clearer walkways and safer daily routines.
Lifestyle support does not include heavy cleaning, medical care, hands-on personal care, or services outside the client’s approved care plan.
What is safety observation?
Safety observation means PR Home Care may notice and communicate non-medical concerns observed during service.
This may include cluttered walkways, trip hazards, spoiled food, unsafe walking patterns, poor lighting, changes in routine, or concerns around commonly used areas of the home.
Safety observation does not replace medical evaluation, physical therapy, occupational therapy, nursing, emergency response, or home modification services.
What does fall-prevention-focused support mean?
Fall-prevention-focused support means we pay attention to common everyday risks that may affect safety at home.
This may include observing trip hazards, clutter, unsafe pathways, routine changes, and other non-medical concerns that should be communicated to the family.
PR Home Care does not diagnose fall risk, provide therapy, or replace medical recommendations.
Can PR Home Care work alongside nonprofit or community support?
Yes. PR Home Care can work alongside family, neighbors, churches, nonprofit programs, and community resources.
We call this layered support.
Some families use nonprofit or community support for part of the need, while PR Home Care provides scheduled concierge companion care, lifestyle support, family respite, and communication during specific gaps.
Is PR Home Care private pay?
Yes. PR Home Care is a private-pay agency.
Rates and service options are discussed during the consultation so families can understand the level of support needed, visit frequency, scheduling needs, and whether PR Home Care is the right fit.
Do you accept Medicaid or insurance?
PR Home Care currently provides private-pay non-medical companion care and family support.
Families who are looking for Medicaid, insurance-covered services, skilled care, or hands-on personal care may need a different type of provider.
Is there a minimum visit length?
Yes. PR Home Care has a minimum visit length. Visit length, schedule, and service needs are discussed during the consultation so families can determine what level of support makes sense.
What happens during the consultation?
The consultation is used to learn more about the client’s needs, family concerns, current support system, home routines, safety concerns, preferred schedule, and whether PR Home Care’s non-medical services are appropriate.
The goal is to determine whether concierge companion care, lifestyle support, family respite, or safety observation would be helpful.
What if my loved one needs more help than PR Home Care provides?
If a client’s needs exceed PR Home Care’s non-medical scope, we will communicate that clearly.
A higher level of care may be needed if the client requires hands-on personal care, skilled nursing, therapy, medication administration, emergency response, or medical decision-making.
PR Home Care believes families deserve honest guidance, not overpromising.
How do I know if this is the right time to call?
You may want to call if you are beginning to notice changes, even if your loved one does not need hands-on care yet.
Common signs include missed meals, isolation, clutter, safety concerns, caregiver stress, or family members checking in more often.
You do not have to wait until a crisis happens.
Still Not Sure What Kind of Support Is Needed?
That is common.
Many families know something is changing before they know what type of support to ask for. PR Home Care can help you talk through whether concierge companion care, lifestyle support, family respite, or another level of care may be appropriate.
