Built From Legacy. Created for Families Before Crisis.

PR Home Care was inspired by the legacy of my grandmother, Virginia — a woman of strength, faith, compassion, respect, and grace.

Today, that legacy guides how we support older adults and families through trusted non-medical companion care, safety observation, routine support, family respite, and reassurance at home.

Meet Shakeila Andrews, Founder of PR Home Care

PR Home Care was created from a personal place.

I know what it feels like to watch someone you love begin to change and wonder when to step in, what kind of support is needed, and how to help without taking away their independence.

Many families do not ask for help right away. Sometimes they wait until there is a fall, a hospital visit, caregiver burnout, or a safety concern that can no longer be ignored.

I built PR Home Care for the stage before crisis — when an older adult is still mostly independent, but the family is beginning to worry.

Our role is to bring trusted presence, routine, reassurance, safety observation, companionship, and family respite into the home before things become overwhelming.

Virginia’s Way: The Heart Behind PR Home Care

Virginia — my grandmother, my family’s matriarch, and the heart behind Virginia’s Way.

PR Home Care was inspired by my grandmother, Virginia.

She was the matriarch of our family — strong, independent, God-fearing, compassionate, generous, graceful, and deeply devoted to the people she loved. She held our family together with faith, respect, love, and quiet strength.

Virginia believed in helping people in real ways. She would feed people, care for people, welcome people, and show up when someone needed her. She believed in treating others with dignity and giving grace, even when life was difficult.

Her life shaped the way I understand care.

Care is not just about completing tasks. It is about presence. It is about respect. It is about paying attention to the small changes others may miss. It is about supporting someone without making them feel less independent, less valued, or less like themselves.

I call that Virginia’s Way.

Virginia’s Way is the care philosophy behind PR Home Care. It reminds us to serve families with dignity, compassion, patience, grace, and steady support before things turn into a crisis.

Helping Families Before Things Become Overwhelming

When an older loved one begins to change, the signs are not always dramatic at first.

It may start with missed meals.
A home that feels less organized.
More time spent alone.
A change in routine.
A fall concern.
Medication confusion.
A family member feeling uneasy but unsure whether it is time to ask for help.

PR Home Care exists for that moment.

We help families respond earlier with non-medical companion support, safety observation, routine support, family respite, meaningful engagement, and reassurance.

Our goal is not to take over. Our goal is to support independence, preserve dignity, and help families feel less alone.
